Best jobs with Finance BBA without MBA to prepare for future investment banking?
I’ll only have a BBA in Finance and I’ve heard it’s hard to get a job in investment banking without MBA so what’s a job I should get in the meantime that will be useful to the future career in investment banking or private equity?
How can I pay off a huge sum of credit card debt without ruining my future??
I am a 20-yr old student, halfway through college. When I began college, I recieved all of those “college” credit card offers mailed to my house. I made the mistake of not cutting up the cards and just threw them away and now someone in my family has used the cards to rack up between $15,000-$20,000 of debt in my name. I do not wish to press charges on them since they are in my family, and my creditors have told me that is the only way I can claim “fraud” on the accounts.
Now I have 4 credit cards in my name that are 6 months or more overdue in payments and I only work part-time at a daycare since I am in school. My parents/relatives will not loan me the money, nor can I drop out of school to work full-time. Creditors are calling me day and night and I just do not have the money to pay off this huge debt. What is my best option? Credit counseling? Debt Management? Bancruptcy? I know there is no “ideal” option but what can I do that would cause the least harm to my credit & future?
I can only afford to pay my creditors about $400 a month total. I would like to avoid bancruptcy at all costs because my fiance and I would like to get married and have kids in the next 7 years and even though he has good credit, mine will prevent that if I declare bancruptcy.
The family member who accumulated the debt will be paying me back eventually but this might not happen for awhile.
Also, I have already spoken with my creditors, they cannot come to an affordable agreement with me.
What is the best way to apartment search by myself for my future husband and I without getting overpriced?
WE want to find a place with all utilities included, which is very possible around here. My fiance works a lot so I have to do it alone, and I have seen the way the male landlords will give me prices a lot higher then they give him. And I swear that I am a good looking woman. He makes very good money but we want to get a place that has reasonable rent so we can save for a down payment when we buy a house in a few years. Our wedding is in August and we are going to wait to buy a house until we have a baby. I just don’t know what kind of role to play or attitude to go with when meeting the landlords. That’s sad because I’m currently earning my 2nd master’s degree in Psychology!!! Any suggestions would be great! Thanks.
Can a bill collector forgive interest on a debt without my receiving a 1099 form for taxes in the future?
A few people online have stated that if a bill collector agrees to forgive the interest on a loan, and only requires that I pay monthly on the principal debt, I will eventually receive a 1099 form for the amount over $600. However, the collector says since I am paying off the original amount due(principal), minus the interest and late fees, I will not receive a 1099 form since they are willing to settle for payment on the principal. Is this possible for a collector to do? Or is this a trick, and I’ll receive a 1099 form eventually? I will be making low monthly payments on the debt for the next few years and I’m currently on a fixed income without valuable assets.
Are collection agencies supposed to take money out of your account without your knowing?
Due to a layoff, Macy’s turned my account over to Van Rue Credit Corp. I spoke with a lady namedMs. Hopkins. I told her that I have a full intention to pay off my Macy’s card. I’ve made 1 payment and she asked for the security of a future payment. I did not want to give my word on securing a payment but she made the threat that if I do not make the 2nd payment by a certain time, a suit would be filed against me where I’d have to pay the full amount. About a week before the 2nd payment was due, I had been admitted to the hospital. I called Ms. Hopkins to notify her that the money for the 2nd payment was not going to be in my account due to med bills. An argument ensued and it ended with her saying that the amount would still be taken out, I’d have to get a stop payment at my bank which i could not afford to pay for. They’ve been taking money out of my account w/o my permission.
Can they do that legally?
Honestly, I know nothing about collection agencies because I’ve never dealt with them until now. I notified my bank and they are going to close the account and open a new one for me.
Are there Fixed Annuites that you can purchase without any surrender charges if your over 61?
In this context the purchasers of annuties would be at least 62 years old investing anywhere from $50,000 to $300, 000. The question is are there annuties they can buy and not be penalized by withdrawing all or part of the principal regardless of the time period the monies have been in the annuity.

If I sold an eBay item, and the buyer pays thru PayPal, can I accept the payment without upgrading to Premier?
It is a $9.25 credit card transaction, and it is the only one of this month.
I couldn’t find a way to accept his payments with my personal account…so I upgraded and they took a ridiculous amount (10%) of that transaction.
So I downgraded my account, and I’m wondering how can I accept credit card payments in the future without needing to upgrade?
