What will happen when payments to health care providers are cut for those on Medicare?

18 Apr

“The measures would bar insurers from denying coverage because of pre-existing medical conditions and limit their ability to charge higher premiums based on age or family size. Expanded coverage would be paid for by cutting hundreds of billions of dollars from future Medicare payments to health care providers. Higher taxes also are included in the bills”

Medicare payments to health care providers are being cut by over 21% in January. If this bill passes, it will be cut by $500 billion more over 10 years. Will doctors even see Medicare patients anymore? Some are already refusing them.

Why would the Democrats do such a thing. Would the House do this if they had to use Medicare? Maybe they should be covered by Medicare also.

It will be the same as in England, you simply won’t be able to get a doctor’s appointment. Palin was right about the Death Panels. This is all designed by the Democrats to get rid of the elderly, sick, disabled by denying them healthcare.

This misrepresentation seems similar to what lobbyists have been trying to push…the SUBSIDIES to billionaire greed-driven and corrupt insurance corporations for providing services that they provide ANYWAY are being eliminated. For these fatcat for-profit insurance companies to continue being subsidized is like a billionaire lying about his income in order to still receive foodstamps. There is NO (I repeat, NO) reduction in payments to health care providers—in fact, there is an increase in coverage because prevention is now to be included and their prescription drug costs have been reduced via the agreement President Obama worked out with the phamaceutical industry to donate $85 billion in order to cover the gap for seniors’ coverage in their prescription meds. Typical Beckian distortion. Get your facts straight please.

That is right, Hitler got rid of the Jews, Obama wants to exterminate the older people over 50,..

My Great Grandma says she has been paying into this system for 40 years, and all for nothing, because this will be the end of SSI,..

isn’t it comforting to know how easily lead people like the goddess are. on the one hand she’s bad mouthing the insurance companies and their subsidies (that should have been taken away long ago, along with a mandate to compete nationwide) but then “praises” pharma for their “donation” to “fill in the gap” which should be a red flag right there….they already know there’s going to be problems, but it appears our “erudite” friend missed that one !!! ( i wonder, how many more times will pharma “donate” ?). i’ll just bet if the insurance companies “filled in the gap”, by “donating” she’d be singing a much different tune. it’s also even more comforting to know that people like her are so “willing” and “ignorant” of the “facts”, and to have such wealth envy, that they’re now ready to trade off from one set of crooks to give to an even “bigger” set of crooks. it will come as a comfort to me when all this is said and done, that the usual will happen since the dawn of time….people like the goddess will be the ones screaming the most and loudest when everything comes true that we’ve been saying and i’ll get the opportunity to say….see, we told you so !!!!! but of course, i think people like the goddess already know this, they’re just thinking it won’t apply to them, but i digress….people like the goddess who don’t follow history…..are bound to repeat it !!!

I was once insured by a company that would pay so low to my OB/GYN that they said they would no longer accept that insurance. I agreed to pay up front for my care and it was really not very pleasant. Luckily, my husband changed jobs and we got other insurance.
But, for those on Medicare, they won’t be having an option like changing jobs.
As for why Democrats would do such a thing. I have to believe that the vast majority of these people just don’t read the bills before they sign. Oh wait, they have this great plan of their own so none of this effects them, right?

What will happen is that those who are dependent upon Medicare will have no place to go. As it is now, many physicians do not accept Medicare because of the bureaucracy, and endless paperwork that our government places them through, and as it is, they get paid about $8.00 per visit, NOW. Imagine cutting that back even further and the majority of Drs. will simply opt out.

And yet, people refuse to see what’s happening out there and are practically begging for a government takeover.
